Beynon and Grand Valley State University - A Perfect Combination

In an effort to the meet the needs of their growing athletic department, Grand Valley State University (GVSU) has joined a long list of notable Universities who have selected Beynon Sports Surfaces to solve their track surfacing needs.

This year alone the University of Oregon, Texas State University, Stanford University, University of Kentucky, Weber State University, University of Virginia and countless others have all made the decision to have Beynon Sports Surfaces’ high performance track and field athletic surfaces installed. Beynon was the surface of choice for three (3) of the top four (4) women’s teams and three (3) of the top five (5) men’s teams at the 2011 Division I NCAA Outdoor National Championships, proving once again that the name Beynon is synonymous with winning.

The new Track and Lacrosse stadium at Grand Valley State University will be a nine (9) lane, 400 meter athletic track featuring the revolutionary BSS 1000 track and field sports surface. The BSS 1000 is a superior track and field surface that enables athletes to push their performance to the limit and train extremely hard without injury. The surface is comprised of a bio-engineered force reduction layer that integrates very fine SBR rubber with environmentally-friendly polyurethane to create an impermeable shock absorbing cushion.

The Laker student-athletes are coming off a strong year where the women finished first and the men 16th during the Division II 2011 NCAA Outdoor National Championships. “This year, the Laker women won the first Division II National Championships in school history in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field, becoming the first women's program in any division in NCAA history to win all three national titles in the same academic year.”
