Beynon Selected to Upgrade Boston University’s Indoor Track and Tennis Center

HUNT VALLEY, MD – Beynon Sports Surfaces was selected to install three IAAF certified sport surfaces after Boston University decided to upgrade their indoor Track and Tennis Center. The BSS 1000 13mm track and field surface was installed on the oval and throw area while the tennis courts and sprint area were resurfaced with the BSS 2000 and the jogging lanes were upgraded to the BSS 3000.

Boston University built their Track and Tennis Center in the winter of 2002 and after eight years the performance of their Rekortan sport surfaces had begun to decline as the shock absorption, color, and luster of their surfaces started to falter.

“Our athletes are saying that they love the give back or “feel under foot” of the BSS track from the previous surface. They believe the nice bounce that they feel will make for fast times,” said Robyne Johnson, Director of Track and Field at Boston University, when asked about the feel of the new track and tennis surfaces.

“Our athletes are ecstatic about the surface. They are all saying the track is well put together and they feel it is extremely conducive to training effectively and competing well. The new surface is rich looking and provides (a great first) look at our facility and the work of the Beynon team was second to none. The Beynon staff of workers were excellent, I would rate them a 10. The work to them was personal and they put their best foot forward”

“At Beynon we not only strive to provide a great product that meets the demands of our clients but also to give a service that surpasses expectations” said Drew Beynon, Vice-President of Beynon Sports. “Our products have proven to outlast and outperform all others”

Beynon Sports Surfaces’ goal was to provide sport surfaces that would enable the Terriers to train hard, run fast times, and refresh the look of the Track and Tennis Center all while ensuring a high level of workmanship from the BSS installation team.
