Speed, trainability, exceptional customer care, the most IAAF-certified surfaces in the industry, and the surface of choice within the NCAA are just a few of the things that come to mind when you hear Beynon Sports. Now you can add Ohio State University’s track & field surface at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium to the list.
The revolutionary track surface at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium is the BSS 2000 Resurfacing System. The BSS 2000 Resurfacing System is an innovative Beynon Sports’ manufacturing and installation process that restores the appearance and texture of your existing track and field surface, and dramatically enhances the feel under foot. In other words, Beynon Sports’ BSS 2000 Resurfacing System enables you to bring rolled rubber sheet good and aged two-component polyurethane systems to within IAAF performance parameters for a fraction of the cost of replacing your old and worn out track surface.
The scope of work tasked to Beynon Sports at Ohio State, working with the O Sports engineer, Vasco Asphalt and the facilities staff at Ohio State University was a difficult one as all 16 take-off runways needed to be replaced within a very aggressive timeframe. Beynon Sports and their team worked closely with one another and had a great spirit of cooperation to ensure the Buckeye athletes would be able to reap the benefits of the BSS 2000 Resurfacing System without delay.
Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium features nine (9) 48” lanes, four (4) long/triple jump pits, two (2) javelin runways, four (4) pole vault boxes and a steeple chase pit. In addition, the stadium hosts the Ohio High School Track & Field Championships each year and is looking to host additional events. With the resurfacing complete, Beynon Sports boasts both outdoor track and field surface and the indoor athletic surface on the 200m track at French Fieldhouse.
“Continuing our winning partnership with Ohio State University is something we are proud to be able announce” Jim Dotson of Beynon Sports. “Ohio State University is a prestigious University with a great athletic history and we are pleased that they have entrusted Beynon with the future of their athletes.”
