The trend of championship events being held on a Beynon running track will continue as Beynon has been selected to resurface the track and field event areas at Rollie Miles Athletic Field and Foote Field on the campus of the University of Alberta.
The Pan-American Junior Athletic Championships is a biannual competition for youth track and field athletes in the Americas. Edmonton, Alberta was recently honored with the privilege of hosting the 2015 championships.
“We are honored to have another prestigious event held on our surface,” commented Beynon COO Drew Beynon. “We’ve seen record performances at numerous NCAA and IAAF championship events and we expect to see some fast times at both Rollie Miles and Foote Field.”
The University of Alberta’s Foote Field was chosen as the facility to host the 2015 Pan-American Junior Athletic Championships. To enhance the competition the University of Alberta decided on Beynon’s IAAF Certified BSS 1000 full pour track surfacing to be installed by PlayTeck. The BSS 1000 has a customized force reduction layer that integrates very fine SBR rubber with two-component polyurethane to create a high performance shock absorbing base. Foote Field will have an IAAF class I certification and will catapult athletes to their full potential.
The facilities at Rollie Miles Athletic Field are to be surfaced by PlayTeck Enterprises using Beynon’s IAAF Certified, BSS 1000ML track surfacing system. The BSS 1000ML is a full pour polyurethane and SBR multilayer track surfacing system that is optimal for training and competition. This IAAF Class II Certified Facility will annually host the Edmonton International Track Classic and in 2015 be used as the warm up track for the Pan-American Junior Athletic Championships.
