Beynon Sweeps ASBAs Track Facility of the Year Awards

The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities, has announced the winners of the 2011 Outstanding Facilities of the Year. Beynon Sports was awarded both the 2011 Outstanding Outdoor Facility of the Year and the 2011 Outstanding Indoor Facility of the Year as well as receiving a distinguished facility recognition for a third site. Awards are presented each year to facilities built by ASBA members, which best exemplify construction excellence.

Beynon Sports is capping off an impressive 2011 year that included over 25 NCAA Division I, II and III track and field programs selecting Beynon Sports to design, manufacture and install their track surface.

Beynon Sports was recognized by the ASBA for construction excellence at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio for both the indoor and outdoor track and field surfaces at the GaREAT Sports Complex. Beynon not only provided world-class surfaces for runners to train on but they also met an aggressive install schedule and delivered the project under budget.

“We are ecstatic that the ASBA has recognized Beynon Sports” said Jim Dotson, Regional Sales Manager, Beynon Sports “winning these awards not only validates the stringent quality control standards that we set for ourselves, but also reinforces why it is so important to work closely with the owner, coaches and contractors when designing, manufacturing and developing a world-class athletic facility.”

Beynon Sports is committed to operational excellence in all aspects of their business – from R&D to contract management to completion and close-out, and Beynon has brought this single source responsibility to the forefront with its 50,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Maryland, regional operational hubs and local sales and service centers. It is this commitment to operational excellence that allowed Beynon to become the market leader in design, production and installation of track and field surfaces in North America.

The outdoor track at the Spire Institute is IAAF Class II certified, 8,500 square yards and features the industry leading BSS 2000 track and field surface. The indoor track at the Spire Institute features the BSS 1000 track and field surface and is an eight-lane 300 meter surface. It is a fast track with outdoor curves that allows for faster times and puts less stress on your body.

In addition to winning the annual awards for best indoor and outdoor facility, Beynon also received praise and distinguished status for the indoor multi-purpose facility at Boston University.
