After successfully hosting the Canadian National Track and Field Championships on their brand new IAAF certified BSS 1000 13mm Full Pour Polyurethane track surface last year, Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary, Alberta Canada, and Athletics Canada is now getting ready to host the Canadian Olympic Track and Field Trials June 27th – June 30th.
The BSS 1000 is a proven system for both training and competing. Its bio-engineered force reduction layer integrates very fine SBR rubber with environmentally friendly polyurethane to create an impermeable shock absorbing cushion.
Sam Effah, the 2011 Canadian Champion in the 100m, will look to improve upon his personal best time of 10:06 as he seeks to become just the third (3rd) man in Canadian history to officially run under 10 seconds. Until now, track greats Donovan Bailey and Bruny Surin are the only Canadians to have officially run the 100m in under 10 seconds; each has a person best time of 9.84 seconds.
When Sam and all the other top Canadian athletes compete, they will have the advantage of the BSS 1000 Full Pour Polyurethane track system propelling them to record setting times and allowing them to push their performance to the limit. Simply put, the BSS 1000 Full Pour Polyurethane track system will allow these deserving athletes to train hard, run fast, and for a select few, realize their dreams of representing Canada at the Olympics.
“To know that in the span of one year, Foothills Athletic Park will have hosted the 2011 and 2012 Canadian National Championships, in addition to the Canadian Olympic Trials speaks volumes to the quality products, workmanship and attention to detail that Beynon is famous for,” Drew Beynon, Chief Operating Officer of Beynon Sports, “No matter the level of competition, you can rest assured that Beynon treats all of their installations as if they are Olympic caliber installations. We look forward to seeing the records fall in Calgary.”
