The University of Virginia is joining the long list of NCAA track and field programs that have decided that only Beynon Sports Surfaces can provide the quality, workmanship, and compatibility necessary to meet the divergent needs of both speed and distance track and field athletes.
The University of Virginia will have their old Tartan surface, installed in the Spring of 2002, replaced with Beynon Sports Surfaces’ state-of-the-art BSS 1000 in the Fall of 2011. The BSS 1000 running track can be TUNED to meet the precise Durometer required to meet and exceed the needs of your coaching staff, athletes and facility managers.
Beynon Sports Surfaces is renowned for designing and manufacturing track and field surfaces that can satisfy the conflicting needs of both speed and distance track and field athletes by providing surfaces hard enough to efficiently convert impact energy into kinetic energy, but, soft enough to reduce wear and fatigue on joints and muscles. The BSS 1000 athletic surface will provide the Cavalier athletes with the resilient response preferred by sprinters, as well as the maximum energy return preferred by distance runners.
