The innovative post-tension concrete system is setting new benchmarks for quality in court construction
ClassicCourt, the 50-year post-tension concrete court system from Tarkett Sports, continues expanding its reach across the country. This comes as more communities and decision-makers discover how ClassicCourt, a system engineered for exceptional strength, durability, and long-term value, is raising the standard for tennis, pickleball, basketball, and multi-sport facilities. The most recent of these communities is Belton, Missouri, where the Show Me State’s first-ever ClassicCourt installation was unveiled earlier this month.
Belton Parks and Recreation hosted the grand opening for the new Wallace Park pickleball courts, which feature four playing surfaces, on September 5th. The festivities included an official ribbon-cutting, followed by the surfaces getting their first test as community members wasted little time launching into their opening games on the new ClassicCourt. For Belton, the project reflects a commitment to bringing new amenities to its surrounding parks and the community.
The Belton design-build project, led by the team at Tarkett Sports Construction (TSC), started two months before the ribbon-cutting, with a ground-breaking in late June. For TSC, leveraging ClassicCourt’s significant benefits, listed below, was key to being trusted with the project’s delivery:
- Reduced downtime and increased court availability
- Consistent surface performance that drives player satisfaction
- Long-term value that minimizes surprise maintenance costs
- Worry-free ownership backed by a 50-year structural and 10-year surfacing warranty
With an industry-leading 50-year structural warranty, patented technology, and installation by PTI-certified professionals, the ClassicCourt post-tension concrete system is designed to outperform at every level. Combined with an expedited procurement through TSC’s cooperative contract, these features further elevated ClassicCourt’s appeal as a preferred solution for the Wallace Park pickleball courts.
Fortunately for Belton athletes of all ages, the Wallace Park installation is only Phase 1. A second phase, also led by TSC, will see the construction of four additional ClassicCourt courts, with new lighting and a basketball court.

About ClassicCourt
ClassicCourt helps solve the challenges commonly associated with traditional asphalt with a precision-engineered post-tension concrete system. It uses high-performance U.S.-made steel cables, powder-coated hardware, and a patented Diamond Coating to regulate moisture release, which helps prevent surface bubbling and common acrylic adhesion issues. Designed to “float” over the ground, the ClassicCourt slab is held in a constant state of compression, absorbing movement and resisting structural cracking.
Fully customizable, ClassicCourt can be surfaced with various premium acrylic systems, ensuring each facility achieves the desired color, texture, and pace rating.
ClassicCourt also expands Tarkett Sports’ collection of surfacing solutions, including design & construction, turf, track, courts, and indoor flooring, offering customers a full-service turnkey solution.
