Beynon to Present Crimson Tide Invitational This Weekend

In their only home event this season, the University of Alabama will host the 2018 Crimson Tide Invitational this weekend, April 6-7 at the Sam Bailey Track & Field Complex. Beynon Sports is proud to be a longtime supporter of the event and will be the presenting sponsor again this year. Beynon has been the trusted track surface at the University of Alabama since 2012.

“With our Beynon Sports track we are not only able to attract the very best recruits to train and compete at Alabama, we also offer elite athletes the opportunity to run on the world’s best track surface,” said Dan Waters, Head Coach, University of Alabama.

Among the teams scheduled to compete in the two-day meet are Clemson, Louisville, Mississippi State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. The meet will get underway Friday, April 6 with field events at 3:30 p.m. CT. Running events will begin at 8:40 p.m. CT. The CTI will continue on Saturday with field events at 9:10 a.m. CT and running events at 11:40 a.m. CT.

GETTING TO KNOW THE HOST SURFACE

Athletes will run on Beynon’s BSS 2000 system. The Olympic-caliber system features a force-reduction layer of high performance butyl rubber and full-depth color polyurethane, finished with an embedded surface. The system is built for the best that are looking for the best.

The BSS 2000 system is the surface of choice at the University of Michigan, Baylor University, Bucknell University, Texas A&M University and numerous other elite facilities.

“We are proud to sponsor the tradition and prestige of the Crimson Tide Invitational,” says John Beynon, founder and president of Beynon Sports. “Athletic programs like University of Alabama with strong facilities and traditions produce memories that stay with athletes and alumni throughout their lives.”

Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium is a centerpiece facility - distinctively designed, inspiring and functional. It features a nine (9) 48-inch lanes, dual direction runways for long jump, triple jump and pole vault. The stadium has played host to a variety of championships throughout its long history and continues to build upon that with the unmatched BSS 2000.
