Local Beynon Crews Lead Upgrade of Fresno State’s Track Facility

2017 is looking up for Fresno State’s Track and Field program! The University recently replaced their aging track with a stunning new complex.

Warmerdam Field now showcases a stunning new Beynon track perfectly suited for Fresno State’s competitive NCAA program. The $2.6 million project offers the Bulldogs a massive improvement over the former surface.

Student-athletes can now walk out of the locker room onto their premiere home Beynon track built safe for daily workouts.

The Beynon Track features:

  • Eight-lane, all-weather Beynon BSS 1000 surface track
  • New high-jump area
  • Long- and triple-jump runways
  • Two pole vault runways
  • Two javelin runways

“The mental advantage for our kids has had an effect on them already,” said Scott Winsor, Head Track and Field Coach. “We had one girl arrive back in Fresno from winter break at noon and she was on the track by two!”

Winsor also shared that the new Beynon track offers current athletes a mental advantage as they go out to practice with enthusiasm and drive each day. “They want to be out there!”

It also opens up the door to better recruitment.

“We feel comfortable bringing recruits in and showing them that we have comparable, and in many cases better facilities than a lot of other Division I programs,” Winsor said.

“We are proud to be part of the history of Warmerdam Field,” says John Beynon, President of Beynon Sports. “Our West Coast office is right in Fresno State’s backyard, making this partnership even more personal.”

Known for being as good (if not better) on race day as it is for training, the BSS 1000 is the same surface installed at high profile west coast track and field venues such as the University of Southern California, Azusa Pacific University, University of Nevada, Reno and over 300 other esteemed NCAA and elite high school facilities across North America.
