Netherlands first Polyurethane Track

Beynon Sports is close to completing their first full polyurethane track in Netherlands at Bentinckspark. Designed in 2007 by the architects’ group MTD Landschapsarchitecten, the park is located in the heart of Hoogeveen, a municipality in the northern Netherlands. Once completed, the 66 acre project will showcase soccer, track and field, handball and volleyball athletic facilities for the local community and neighboring schools.

In the need of a product that would offer long term performance and the capability to endure the parks high use, the decision makers at MTD chose Beynon Sports’ proven BSS 1000 system. The facility will feature an eight (8) lane track, long jump and pole vault runways.

“After looking at several different options, we felt Beynon Sports’ BSS 1000 System was the best product on the market place for us. Its lifecycle, performance and durability is proven by the extensive list of existing installations” Said Mr. De Boer, Project Manager of the Municipality of Hoogeveen.

The BSS 1000 Full Pour System integrates very fine SBR rubber granules with environmentally friendly polyurethane to create an impermeable shock-absorbing cushion. Beynon Sports’ premier system is currently the underfoot of the University of Texas, University of North Carolina, Villanova University, Boston University, Foothills Athletics Park, Canada Games Facility and hundreds more.

“We couldn’t be more excited to complete our first Beynon Sports Surface in Europe. The project at Bentinckspark is truly unique and one completed, will be one of the world’s elite facilities,” Said Drew Beynon, Chief Operating Officer at Beynon Sports
