New Beynon Track and Tennis Facility Shines at Oral Roberts University

Despite never having a dedicated outdoor facility, the Track & Field program at Oral Roberts University is considered a leading collegiate competitor.

The University recently unveiled their new cutting-edge track and tennis surfaces showcasing Beynon’s renowned systems at the new Oneok Sports Complex.

Joe Dial, head coach for the Golden Eagles Track Team for the past 24 years, says he’s been talking about an outdoor track for the past 23 years. As a recent inductee into the National High School Hall of Fame, Dial lives and breaths track and field. As a coach, he can finally train his team on the world-class surface and venue he’s always envisioned.

In the past, ORU student athletes held workouts on the grass or at a nearby high school. The team will now enjoy training on a premium track surface -- even hosting their own meets and USA Track & Field Youth Meets this season.

The new ONEOK Sports Complex, nestled on a beautiful hill across from the ORU Baseball Field, also houses new Beynon tennis courts, locker rooms and bleachers. The premiere Beynon track at the center of the complex is the Olympic-caliber BSS 2000 system, designed and manufactured for optimal competitive performance. The surface is designed to deliver safe daily training and still be exceptionally fast on race day.

The innovative surfaces gives ORU the ultimate edge in competition - even up against the Big 12 teams they compete with throughout their season.

“We are honored to work with Oral Robert’s on their incredible new outdoor track and field facility; the first in their history,” said John Beynon, founder and President of Beynon Sports. “The students and coaching staff have conveyed such a deep love and dedication to their program and the sport, it’s absolutely inspiring.”
