New Track & Field Facility at Abilene Christian University makes Wildcats see Purple

After decades of competing at the legendary Elmer Gray Stadium, the Abilene Christian University Wildcats have a new home! The new facility was built by Beynon Sports to support the ACU Track & Field student-athletes’ need for a stadium suitable to showcase their renown athletic program.

ACU officials chose Beynon Sports as the site contractor as well as the designer, manufacturer and installer of the Wildcats’ over 7,000 square yard facility which will utilize Beynon Sports’ pioneering BSS 1000 athletic surface. “After reviewing our surface options for the new facility, choosing Beynon Sports was a no brainer for us, especially when we compared to sheet good products” said Keith Barnier, Head Track and Field Coach at Abilene Christian University. “Beynon delivered an outstanding product on time, on budget and respected all of their promises. Our team is already in love with the track and the feeling underfoot. This new facility will give us a big push in regards to recruiting for the coming years.”

Known for being as good (if not better) on race day as it is for training, the BSS 1000 is the same surface installed at high profile track and field venues such as The University of Texas, Texas A&M, Trinity University, the University of Texas at San Antonio and over 300 other esteemed NCAA and elite high school facilities across North America and around the world.

“It’s a true honor to have been chosen by this legendary institution to build their new track and field facility and provide Beynon’s revolutionary track and field surface” Said Drew Beynon, COO at Beynon Sports.
