If you haven’t visited Oakland University campus lately, odds are you won’t recognize it!
Over the last few years the grounds at OU received a major overhaul. Part of multi-million dollar project, a new parking structure, recreation and athletic complex, student housing and a new headquarters for facility and grounds maintenance operations were all recently constructed.
For the new track and field facility, Oakland University officials selected Beynon Sports as the site contractor and chose Beynon’s BSS 1000 system with encapsulated texture for their new track surface. The new outdoor facilities will accommodate NCAA Division I athletic events including tennis, and track and field meets; club and intramural sports competitions, and a variety of fitness and recreational activities welcoming university students, faculty, staff and community visitors.
Known for being as good (if not better) on race day as it is for training, the BSS 1000 is the same surface installed at high profile track and field venues such as the University of Texas, the University of Memphis, DePauw University, Grinnell College, and countless other NCAA and elite high school facilities across North America and around the world.
