The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities, has recognized Beynon Sports Lane Community College as a winner in the distinguished Outdoor Track category of its annual awards program. Lane Community College will now be entered into the running for Outdoor Facility of the year, an award Beynon Sports swept in 2011 for both the Outstanding Outdoor Facility of the Year and the Outstanding Indoor Facility of the Year. Awards are presented each year to facilities built by ASBA members, which best exemplify construction excellence.
With four months to go, Beynon Sports is once again having an impressive year in 2012, a year that so far has seen three more schools from the Pac-12 select Beynon Sports as their surface of choice. In addition to over 100 jobs won or installed within the United States in 2012, Beynon Sports has also extended their international presence with installations in Norway and Venezuela.
“We are ecstatic that the ASBA has once again recognized Beynon Sports,” said Jeff Dickey, Region Sales Manager, Beynon Sports. “Winning distinguished status and being nominated for facility of the year not only validates the stringent quality control standards that we set for ourselves, but also reinforces why it is so important to work closely with the owner, coaches and contractors when designing, manufacturing and developing a world-class athletic facility.”
Beynon Sports is committed to operational excellence in all aspects of their business from R&D to contract management to completion and close-out. Beynon has brought this single source responsibility to the forefront with its 50,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Maryland, regional operational hubs and local sales and service centers. It is this commitment to operational excellence that allowed Beynon to become the market leader in design, production and installation of track and field surfaces in North America.
Beynon Sports installed an 8 lane Berlin Blue track with a 1m safety zone on the outside perimeter set to International (IAAF) standard dimensions, with a Steeplechase on the inside apex of the turn as well as a 100m/110m setup that can be run in both directions. This state of the art track also features markings for High School and the NCAA
