Sub-60 Indoor Track Action Like You've Never Seen

This one-of-a-kind indoor track was commissioned for the March events but originally debuted at the "House of Track" - a construction warehouse venue in Northwest Portland in January. While there, some of the biggest names in the sport flocked from across the country to join in the widely publicized Friday and Saturday night track meets in January and February; and to test out the surface prior to their March competitions. The verdict was unanimous - this track was fast. And forgiving.

In February, the portable track was disassembled into 1,400 pieces, moved across the Willamette River and reassembled for the USATF Indoors and a championship meet.

The compact but mighty track weighed 2,000 tons and covered over 40,000 square feet. It took crews 14-days to remove and another 10-days to reassemble at the Oregon Convention Center.
