Tarkett Sports & Good Sports Partnership Continues to Provide Essential Resources for Youth Athletes

Launched in 2021, the “Better Tomorrow” program supports diversity and accessibility in sports

When Tarkett Sports partnered with Good Sports in 2021, we sought to align ourselves with an organization that shared our underlying values, enabling youth athletes the opportunity to get in the game. That collaboration resulted in the launch of the Better Tomorrow program, which is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of kids across North America, especially those in high-need communities.

As an organization that leads by example, many of our team members have made sports a significant part of their lives. This personal investment drives the passion shown through Better Tomorrow as well as another socially conscious initiative, Tarkett Human-Conscious Design, which reinforces our commitment to supporting the betterment of both people and the planet. Designing the future of play, while balancing both environmental and human interests, requires strong strategic partnerships. We’ve been fortunate to count Good Sports among those that reinforce a core principle of Tarkett Sports: “Stop at nothing to make a difference”.

Through this collaboration, Tarkett Sports has been able to amplify our message and help get kids in the game, most notably through the Equip-A-Kid program, which drives donations that provide equipment across a range of popular sports. In its 19 years, Good Sports has collected more than $95 million in donations, supporting over 9.3 million kids across all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Active play is vital for a child’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social health. When children miss out on active play opportunities, they miss out on the many lifelong benefits sports has to offer,” said President & Co-Founder, Christy Keswick. “Through a shared philosophy around the importance for equitable play opportunities, we are thrilled to continue working with Tarkett Sports to give a significant number of children the equipment they need to play.”

As Tarkett Sports continues to strengthen efforts towards making a meaningful impact when it comes to accessibility and diversity in sport, we recognize our responsibility towards people of all ages and the environments in which they play,” said Eric Daliere, President – Tarkett North America & Tarkett Sports. “To achieve those goals, we also remain open to partnering with teams like the one at Good Sports, which inspires through their dedication, expertise and commitment to sport.”

Good Sports’ efforts in 2022 made us even more proud to align with the organization as it donated over $13 million in equipment and placed much-needed focus on sports for young female athletes. Through its #SheWhoPlays initiative, Good Sports served over 204,000 girls and 135 programs that started new sports programs for girls.

Tarkett Sports designs and builds surfaces that help to unite communities, forge new friendships, teach essential life lessons like teamwork, and offer youth athletes the opportunity to strive for greatness. Part of our mission in creating those opportunities is remembering that there is still hard work to be done in promoting access to the proper equipment and resources to reach a point where no one is left on the sidelines.
